Ceiling or Sky: Female Nonfictions after the VIDA Count A special issue guest-edited by Susanne Antonetta, Barrie Jean Borich (2009), and Joy Castro.
For a special Fall 2012 issue of Brevity, we seek work by women, including transgendered women, that pushes back against and/or illuminates the silences, gaps, and biases revealed by the VIDA count. We are looking for vibrant, knock-out short-short or flash nonfiction pieces of 750 words or fewer. Submissions will be accepted through Submishmash, between November 1, 2011, and May 1, 2012. Authors will be paid a $45 honorarium for work selected.
