Job opportunity: The Island Institute in Sitka, Alaska is looking for an Associate Director. The Institute is an unusual small nonprofit organization with a thirty-year history of working at the intersection of literary arts and community resilience. The Institute cultivates uncommon conversations about the nature of resilient communities—the web of human relationships and responsibilities and our connections to the greater natural world—using the literary arts as a means of inquiry into the values of community and to promote collaborative leadership as an avenue to deepen democratic principle of civic engagement.
